The “World’s Only Year Round Rodeo”
The sport of rodeo has a lot of popular events. From Prescott Frontier Days (“World’s Oldest Rodeo”) to National Finals Rodeo in Vegas to “the Daddy of ‘Em All” Cheyenne Frontier Days, rodeo has got a lot of big events on the calendar.
But what if it is just a normal Friday night and there’s no PBR or other event in town? Well if you live within driving distance to Forth Worth, TX you’re in luck.
Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth hosts the world’s only year round rodeo: Stockyard Championship Rode. That’s right: every Friday and Saturday night at 7:30pm… rodeo!

Here’s the order of events, which can change based on entrants:
- Bull Riding
- Tie-Down Roping
- Bareback Riding
- Saddle Bronc Riding
- Ranch Saddle Bronc Riding
- Breakaway Roping
- Team Roping
- Ladies Barrel Racing
- Bull Riding (2nd Section)
Know Before You Go
Here’s a list of prohibited items:
- No outside food or drink — there’s good options (including adult beverages) in Cowtown Coliseum and plenty of places to eat throughout the Stockyards
- No pets — only ADA Service Animals allowed
- No cash — I think this is a Covid rule, but credit/debit cards only for now
- No guns — Open carry prohibited pursuant to Section 30.07
All events are indoors, which means they’ll be running the heat as needed in the winter and blasting the A/C in the summer.
Doors open at 6pm, so there will be plenty of time to grab some grub and find a seat.
Stockyards Championship Rodeo Tickets
Far and away, the best place to buy tickets is https://cowtowncoliseum.com/.
That might sound odd from someone selling tickets, but you’re going to get a much better deal by buying direct. The rodeo runs every week, so there’s almost no chance of a sellout. That’s right, don’t buy from us, from TicketCity or from Vivid Seats, buy from Cowtown.
Most of the people selling tickets on our (and other) marketplace for this rodeo are concierge-style: they’ll wait for an order and then go down and buy a ticket for you. As you can read above “… tickets that the seller does not own, but is offering to procure for you.” Save your money and buy at Cowtown.
Plus, Cowtown often runs specials that make the deals even better. Right now they are offering a free Child ticket with Adult admission.
